Ahhhh . .. Fall is definitely here!! Loving the gorgeous turning leaves, the little bit cooler weather, and the promise of coming holidays.
This coming Saturday is a really special day as two of my besties and I hold our “Handmade Holiday Extravaganza”. We’re planning a really fun time for all those attending this workshop, where we’ll make greeting cards and 3D projects for all three upcoming holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We’ve been really busy prepping our projects, searching for fun prizes and treats, and getting ready to share creativity with some amazing and lovely ladies! Today I’ll show you a few of the projects we’ll be making Saturday ,,, and next week, after I’ve recovered (!) I’ll try to share the rest, as well as some photos from the event.
This is one of my Thanksgiving cards. I used a “brown bag color” cardstock for the card base (and a matching envelope!!), with a luscious darker brown floral layer from Stamperia, topped with a woodsy oval die from Anna Griffin. I embellished with foil leaves, and printed leaves and rose from Anna Griffin, This is one of my most favorite cards I’ve made . .. . and I do love the greeting, too!
This is Kat’s “double, double, toil and trouble” Halloween card. Isn’t that the greatest cauldron? Attendees will get a choice of colors of “brew” they’d like bubbling in their cauldron.
Here’s my other Thanksgiving/Fall card, in very non-traditional colors. Copper is one of my favorite metallic accents, and I used it liberally, matching the copper foil in the pink paper. I love the softer hues of the pumpkin and flowers and leaves. I made two sample cards with the same components, so the crafters can decide whether they want a vertical or horizontal card. This pink paper is Stampin’ Up, the copper center focal die and leaves are Anna Griffin, and the fussy cut pumpkin is Prima (I think!!)
OK – is Susan’s Christmas card one of the cutest cards you’ve ever seen?!!? Lots and lots of small die cut pieces make up this perfect collage of sled and skates, in beautiful aqua, white and silver. All components are Stampin’ Up and I’ve already told Susan I want to make a bunch more of her cards . . . soooo cute!!
Oh, yeah! We’ll have candy at the workshop . .. LOTS of candy! After you’ve made this darling Halloween box project of Kat’s, you’ll put the jar in it, which is now filled with lots of candy corn! (we’ll also have candy snacks for when your creativity needs to be enhanced by your sweet tooth!!) It’s all going to be so SWEET!!!!
That’s it for today, friends! I still have work to do before Saturday, but I hope these projects have brought a smile to your face. Its going to be a FUN afternoon, and I’ll share more with you next week! Happy Crafting to all! And Happy Fall, ya’ll!! Hugs! Janice
