Everything’s Coming Up Hearts!

Well, Christmas is past. New Year’s is off and running. We have a new President. Now it’s time for Valentines Day! Actually, the way the days are already speeding by, it will be here before we know it!

I’m in “full Valentine” mode since my February workshop here in Auburn is on Saturday, February 1 (“first Saturday). So, today I want to show you some of the cards we’ll be making. This workshop will be a little different, since we all give (or don’t give!) Valentine’s so differently, I thought it would be impossible to prepare 3 cards that you all could use. So this will once again, like Christmas, be a “buffet” style workshop. I’ll make several different cards, with kits for each, and you can choose which cards you want to make, regular cost of $5.00 each. There will be feminine cards, cards that are more masculine, and a couple of kids’ cards. And at least a couple of the cards will be appropriate for wedding or anniversary, if you don’t send many Valentines.

I’m not finished with all of the cards yet, but below are 4 of the cards you’ll be able to choose from.

This card is from Anna Griffin’s heart-shaped cards kit. You’ll choose your base card, add some heart shaped dies, and then choose your flower embellishments and greeting. Remember, Valentines cards are appreciated by not only spouses and significant others, but by family members, grandkids, and friends!

The base of this card is cut from some lovely cardstock from a company called “Blue Fern”. All of the embellishments are pieces from a Stampin’ Up kit of Valentine ephemera. I love the light muted colors and whimsical feeling of this card. There are several greeting options to choose from for this card, and others.

The framing die on this card is an old, old one I had in my stash. I think this card would work fine for a guy . . . no flowers or frills, other than a die cut red foil “Love” greeting! Lors of punched out hearts from various papers, to choose from.

This vintage style card is great for kids, grandkids or other littles in your life. You all know my favorite style is vintage, and I love these little vintage kiddos. What fun it used to be to exchange Valentines with all the kids in our grade school classrooms. I remember going with my mom to pick out a package of cards for my classmates. Ahhh . . .. the good ole’ days!

I’m looking forward to making more cards for this workshop in the next few days, and hope to see you there. We’ll start at 11:00 in North Auburn, 3765 Grass Valley Highway (where I live). All the card kits will have precut pieces. Just bring your basic tool kit, including scissors and your choices of adhesives. Please let me know if you’ll be joining us and I’ll give you the details about where we’ll be meeting.

Thanks for stopping by . …. remember, do something creative every day! . . . . and SEND MORE CARDS!! Make someone’s day!!

Hugs! Janice
