New Cards & the Fall Schedule

Once again, its been awhile since I posted here. I know . … too much going on! I’m actually in the middle of a complete reorganization of all of my crafting stuff and it’s quite a chore! Moved furniture in my craft room last week, after taking Aleve early in the morning so I could function without back pain (that’s what happens when you get old!!). Now I’m going through all the furniture and supplies . . tossing some, giving away some, donating some to the thrift shop, and trying to sell a little bit online. Am glad I’m basically taking the month of August off, as well as July, as there’s still a lot to do!

First, I have several cards to show you . .. quite a variety, actually!

This is probably one of my most favorite cards I’ve ever made! I love the soft colors . . . the florals . .. and the fussy cutting I did for all these little stacked pieces. I do love to fussy cut. . . something to do while watching TV, as I can’t JUST watch TV! And the results of layered fussy cutting of most anything, are something I really love. I’m actually going to make several more of this card, I love it so much!!

This is a card we made in Katrina’s workshop last weekend. It features a current and wonderful set of patterned papers in Mediterranean style and colors. I’ve used it in my workshops, too and still love it. Am almost out of the paper, and I’m trying to decide if I need one more package, or if I’m tired of it! Soooo pretty! This is a “fun fold” . . . . looks pretty involved and complicated, but it’s really not hard at all! Its an advanced version of the “Z-fold”.

Susan got us started into Fall last month in her workshop here in Auburn, with this leaf card featuring some new Fall papers and leaf dies. The embossing folder we used on the background is really pretty . . . . I can see using it a lot during the Fall season!

This is one of the cards we’ll be making in my September 7 workshop here in Auburn. Last month we did 3 “fun fold” cards (Part 1) and next month we’ll be doing “fun folds” Part 2. This is a double Z-fold card using Stampin’ Up’s zinnia papers. This is probably my favorite fun fold. I love the way it looks. You can do many variations on it, adding more folds and/or more panels . . . and of course it’s just made for adding some embellishments! I’m working on the kits for the other 2 cards we’ll be making: a vertical “pocket card” and a “double dutch door” card. Fun!!!!

There’s your creative inspiration for this post. And here’s my schedule for the rest of the Fall season. Hope to see many of you local readers at some of these events!
