I’ve had some extra time these last couple of weeks, to make cards, as I call it, “just for fun”. Often I’m preparing for a workshop or making a couple of cards for people I need to send a card to. As part of my sorting through all my crafting supplies, and cleaning out, I have found lots and lots of old “leftovers” of papers and embellishments. So, I grab a sack and pull out the supplies and USE them up! It’s a great feeling, and I end up with several more cards I can send or donate or give away!
But, before I show you some of my recent “fun”, I want to remind you of upcoming workshops! The first Saturday in April, April 5th, I’ll be holding my Auburn (CA) workshop here where I live. We’ll meet at 11:00 a.m. and will be making Easter cards. I have two religious cards and two “bunny” cards, so that you can choose which cards you want to make. And if you want to make all 4 of them, you can. This date is only 2 weeks away, so please let me know as soon as you can, if you’ll be joining us on the 5th. If you need directions, let me know. My monthly workshops are still just $15.00.

These two cards above are two of the four you’ll be able to choose from at the workshop on Saturday, April 5th!
And, in last week’s post, I showed you the first card I completed for my June “Floral Fantasy” special event that will take place on Saturday, June 21, in Grass Valley, from 10:00 – 2:00. My special events are a little longer, we make more “fancy” cards, and this time I’ll be serving a light finger-food lunch. The event cost remains the same as always, $45.00 for the five cards. And, as always, I’ll have some special treats and a surprise or two for you. I also need to know, as soon as possible, if you’ll be coming to this event. Seating is limited, and its half full already!! I had several sign ups just from talking about it, before I even “advertised” it! We’ll have a lot of fun, ‘cuz I know most of you love flowers just as much as I do!! I’m also loving preparing the cards for this event, and I’m pretty sure you’ll love the cards!
OK – on to some pictures to get your juices flowing for doing your own creating!! I have been SUCH a happy camper the last few days, as my friend Jilli would say – “playing cards”!!

These cards are made from leftover paper scraps and flowers from Anna Griffin. The photo doesn’t do the colors justice . . . the soft, soft pinks are SO pretty! And I love that circle frame, which is from a current Stampin’ Up set of decorative frames of all sizes. It’s very versatile and lots of fun to use!

How’s this for a happy little card!?! This card was definitely made with scraps, from old Stampin’ Up papers I had. I made about 15 cards from this paper, and this was the last one . .. using up all of that pattern! I’m pretty sure I have enough plastic sacks of this kind of leftovers, to keep me making cards “forever”!! And its fun to find papers, etc. that I had forgotten about . . . I still love a lot of the “old” products we’ve used over the years, and enjoy playing with them again. I’m thinking about starting a frequent post with a title something like “Down Memory Lane”. I know a lot of you would easily recognize the cards and products I could show . . . stay tuned!!

And one last photo to “whet your appetite” for “Floral Fantasy”. Here’s the next papers I’ll be using for our second card . .. this was the first paper I found and fell in love with for this event. Those soft pinks and blues and just SO lovely! Hopefully by next week I’ll able to show you the finished card we’ll be making with this paper!
Thanks for stopping by today . .. I’m really looking forward to this weekend as it looks like we’ll finally really start SPRING!! The sun is shining, the temperature is gonna be lovely! So I’ve got to fit some gardening in between my crafting this weekend . . . .what a perfect plan!! Happy creating and hugs to all of you!
