Cottage Life with Graphic 45

Do you love the “cottage feel”? I’ve often thought it would be fun to have a “spare” home . . . a small cottage to retreat to when I wanted peace and quiet and time for reflection. Many of the images in this “Cottage Life” line of papers, are reminiscent of the beautiful little cottages that can be found in Europe. And of course, all of them are FULL of wonderful gardens and flowers . . .. my fave!!

I’ve had this newer line of Graphic 45 papers for a couple of months, and have been drooling over it, waiting to create a card class with it. I was NOT disappointed! This paper is so soft, and calming, and just plain lovely . . . .its a joy to work with!

We’ll be making 5 cards with these papers on Saturday, August 27th, at Theresa’s office/craft room on Hughes Rd. in Grass Valley. The workshop runs from 10:00m am – 1:00 pm. I have a good supply of papers, so kits will be available if you aren’t able to attend the workshop . . . but let me know, so I don’t run out! Workshop or kit fee is $35.00, and you can mail me a check or pay me through PayPal. A paid reservation confirms your attendance/kit. Bring your “basic tool box” (primarily your choices of adhesives) and all the precut/fussy cut/measured supplies will be in your kit, ready for you to assemble and embellish.

Here are photos of three of the cards we’ll be making (the other 2 aren’t quite finished!!)

These two cards feature my “signature” silk ribbon, on the card on the left . . . and one of my newer Anna Griffin fussy dies on the card on the right. The photo doesn’t do justice to some of the shimmer and bling I added, but you’ll see that when you get the kit. Both cards are 5″ X 7″ 9 (A7 size) and come with envelopes, of course.

This is a horizontal card with a couple of extra folds, opening to the left hand side of the card. More lovely silk ribbon, a gold “ring” to anchor the ribbon, and some lace from my stash at the bottom of the card.

Here’s this card opened . . . lovely roses, sweet little cottages, and one of Graphic 45’s greeting panels inside to write your special message to the recipient.

I’ll have several different greetings, in banners, blocks, etc. for you to pick from, if you want to add a greeting to the front of your cards.

Hope to see many of you at this workshop . . . this will be the last of the “all occasion cards” now, before we head into the holiday seasons of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Stay tuned for more information about those workshops and special classes, coming soon. And coming this weekend, I’ll be posting the first of my Christmas card kits, exclusively here on the blog!! I know many of you want to get a head start on the holidays . . .. and I’ll do my best to help you out there!!

Happy papercrafting . . . . do something creative every day! Hugs! Janice

  1. These are gorgeous Janice!!
Have you ever done a “goth” card? 😆 My granddaughter is turning 25 next March and I’d love to have you make a card for her if you could come up with something!

  2. Never have, Sally …. Just “ not me” ! Let me check some papers from a couple years ago, tho’ … more of a “ steampunk style” but she might like it! I’ll get back to you after I check this weekend ….❤️

    1. I didn’t figure you would do ‘goth’! Just thought I’d check. I would still like to have you do a card for her tho if you do specialized cards. I would pay you, of course!

      1. Sure … I’d love to …. Any idea of theme or colors or style? I did some “bees” cards that were really bright & colorful ….. I’ll look to see if I can find any other pix to show you …… thanks!
