Fun With Stampin’ Groups

As many of you know, I was as Stampin’ Up Demonstrator for years. I loved it . . . but quit being a Demonstrator in 2017 for several reasons. I still stamp with my Roseville group of lovely ladies, who have become dear friends. Some of them have been with me since 2003!!

I also keep up with Stampin’ Up through a couple of my dear friends who are Demonstrators. I love going to their workshops, where I’m usually asked “why are you here? what can you learn that you don’t already know?” And my instant answer is: “sometimes its really fun to be the STUDENT, rather than the TEACHER!!”

I also know many of you love Stampin’ Up, so I decided from time to time I’ll show you some of the projects I’ve been creating for my group, and also some of the cards I’ve made at my friends’ workshops! If you’d like to join an ongoing monthly workshop, both Katrina (in Lincoln, CA) and Susan (here in Auburn, CA) have openings in their groups and I’d be happy to introduce you and maybe see you at a workshop!

This first card is from one of Susan’s workshops. I LOVE these daisies! This doesn’t happen too often anymore, but I loved them so much I had to buy them!! They’re a Stampin’ Up bundle (both stamps and dies) called “Cheerful Daisies”. I’m using them in my group this month, in all yellows .. . . . right here!
I’ve also got a card going with all white daisies, but I can’t wait to try some other colors too. Not really sure what colors “real” daisies come in, but I decided I could create my own in whatever colors I love!
For my group this month, I also decided to get out my “coffee and tea” supplies, and make a couple cards. I couldn’t believe I had a bulging full iris box of stamps, dies, and papers with the “beverage” theme. So I pulled out the ones that I liked best, and here’s one of them. Doesn’t this just make you want to call a friend and get together for tea? (these dies are from an old Stampin’ Up set).
This is one of my favorite sets. This greeting on the outside leads to the inside, which says . . . . “sorry, I really have no idea!” Love it!! These are new Stampin’ Up papers called “Countryside Inn.” It has gorgeous shades of blues and several really pretty patterns.

These next three cards are from workshops at my friend Katrina’s.

Those of us who took Katrina’s Easter workshop absolutely LOVED the “bunny card”. Are these not adorable little bunnies??! I love them playing in all that pretty foliage.
This card was what we call a “fun fold”. . . a card that uses a fold that’s not your typical half fold, either vertical or horizontal. Fun folds are VERY popular now, and those of us who do workshops are always looking for new ideas for these cards. This was a really easy, but impressive one!
This is a favorite of mine. Stampin’ Up has a die set called “Around the Bend” that cuts these curved border pieces with the leaves already attached to the edge. Then you can add more separate leaves and little flowers on top of that edge, for a really pretty floral effect! Great idea!

I hope these cards have given you some inspiration and ideas for your own card making. I’ll be back Tuesday with some new Anna Griffin cards I’m working on and then some new florals from The Greetery. Have a great weekend . . . . and remember, someone you know would be SO blessed to get a handmade card from you next week, letting them know you’re thinkning of them! Happy Crafting!
